Facts
The suspect is being investigated for intentional attacks on life, imprisonment or any other form of serious deprivation of liberty, torture, forced disappearances, other inhuman acts, committed in Syria between March 2011 and December 2015.
Procedure
Following a report from the French asylum authorities (OFPRA), the specialised unit for the prosecution of international crimes launched an investigation.
On 21 April 2026, the suspect was arrested. He was charged while under investigation (mis en examen) on 24 April 2026 for complicity in crimes against humanity.
