In May 2025, a legal complaint was submitted to the Peruvian Public Prosecutor’s Office by Julio César Arbizu González, on behalf of the Hind Rajab Foundation.
On 10 June 2025, the Public Prosecutor’s Office announced that it had assigned the case to its specialised Human Rights Prosecution Unit for preliminary criminal investigation.
